Internationality
There are various possibilities for international activity during the studies at Proacademy: intensive courses, visitors and international projects.
Intensive Courses
A team of TAMK’s exchange students from various training programs also visit Proacademy during springtime to learn about business operations and innovation through concrete projects. Business Development (10 cu) is a project based course for international exchange students. Learn by doing a real project in teams, reading related books and articles and most importantly – by regularly reflecting on what the teams have done. Having an open and innovative mind is the key to success in Business Development.
Registration according to the rules of international office.
Visitors
Proacademy is constantly visited by foreign exchange students and visitors from Tampere University of Applied Sciences’s partner schools. We also organize and take part in at least two international intensive weeks annually, in which students are grouped in international teams to come up with solutions to assignments given by companies.

What our guests have said about us
Wiener Neustadt’s University of Applied Sciences
“In the course of our Master studies we had the unique opportunity to visit Proakatemia in Tampere, Finland. As this style of studying is something we do not have in Austria – there is a fixed schedule with focus on theoretical topics – we were very curious and eager to get to know Proakatemia.
At Proakatemia the students were keen to share their experiences with us. During our discussions we noticed that there are certain cultural differences between our two countries. These differences do not only show in relation to leadership – which has been the main topic of our trip – but also in relation to the attitude towards tasks that need to be done. We found that the students are very disciplined and motivated. Furthermore it is amazing how self-confident and target-oriented the students are – given their rather young age.
During our 12h innovation we were amazed by the way the people at TAMKO trusted us. Our task was to assess the amount of assistance foreign degree students get at TAMK before starting their studies. The results of our reports were highly appreciated. The feedback on the reports was very constructive and honest – in contrast to the Austrian behaviour when giving feedback. We find that this was one of the most important learnings of our project week.
We would like to express our gratitude for the hospitality we experienced. Especially Sirja and Joonas were there for us during the day and even ’sacrificed’ their freetime in order to make it possible for us to have an unforgettable week. We are very impressed!”

ProLearning
ProLearning is a sister school of Proacademy in Windhoek, Namibia. In 2009 Polytechnic of Namibia started a program called ProLearning and it is based on the same learning methods and learning tools used in Proacademy. The pilot team graduated in April 2011 and second and third teams are running their businesses as we speak.
ProLearning is an important achievement to Proacademy. We are very proud to see that the program is running and young entrepreneur-minded namibians get to study with the same methods as we do here. Few students from Proacademy has been in Namibia at ProLearning to support the program and the collaboration between Namibia and Finland is strong. We hope to see more and more teams graduating from ProLearning and continue our collaboration with our dear sister school in Namibia.
